The application of physics, especially silver nanoparticle technology, to the manufacture of hand sanitizers and disinfectants, is becoming commonplace in everyday life at this time. The medical device industry, at this time, is increasingly sophisticated and has an attractive and beautiful shape, coupled with affordable prices with the ability of people’s purchasing power, thereby reducing imported medical equipment. For this reason, physics lecturers plan to hold socialization about the introduction of making hand sanitizers and disinfectants that are commonly found and purchased by the wider community which will be explained scientifically and can be accounted for for their truth by Physics Lecturers through community service activities.

In this service activity, there are 5 physics students who will join, namely Ana Qona’ah, Syifa Avicenna, Tennia Noor Istiqomah, Endah Ni’matul Maula, and Irma Safira. This community service team has 4 lecturers with scientific specificities, Ali Khumaeni specifically in the field of material physics to synthesize nanoparticles, Prof. Wahyu Setia Budi as a speaker in an educational presentation to partners, Asep Yoyo Wardaya conducted a demonstration of making hand sanitizers and disinfectants using nano silver active ingredients, and Sofyan Firdausi specifically in the field of radiation physics characterized nanosilver as an antimicrobial active ingredient. Three students assisted in the process of making hand sanitizers and disinfectants using nano silver and assisted in the implementation of events at partner venues

Community Service Activities for the Use of Hand Sanitizers and Disinfectants Using Active Ingredients Nanoparticles for the Sultan Fatah Banyumanik Foundation semarang have been carried out from March to May 2022. Sequentially, the activities carried out were in the form of making hand sanitizer and disinfectant products by utilizing nanoparticles as antibacterial materials, lectures and discussions on the importance of using hand sanitizers and disinfectants made from nanosilvers and how to use them appropriately, as well as the distribution of hand sanitizer and disinfectant products to the Sultan Fatah Banyumanik Foundation.

Overall, community service activities by the service team took place in a smooth manner in accordance with the plan implemented from March to May 2022. This activity provides direct benefits to people who are still in urgent need of hand sanitizer and disinfectant products in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. This product is very useful for the Al-Amin Mosque which will be used as a place for community worship activities during the month of Ramada
